CANCELLED Eeel Pie Island, Twickenham to Richmond

Hi,

As discussed, a Thames walk covering Twickenham to Richmond, taking in one of the few Eel Pie Island open days, hence the limited dates. Pick all dates you could attend.

There is Hammerton's ferry, a small boat service we could use to cross the Thames.

Want to point out Pubs were convenient markers for planning via Google maps. The Wetherspoons in Twickenham might be a worthy lunch spot. Last time I was here, I went to Greggs, got some food and sat along the riverbank.

When & where
It does get busy, recommend being there for 11am @ Eel pie Island.
Take regular trains to Waterloo East, walk to Waterloo and take a train to Teddington or Strawberry Hill.
Perhaps we meet at Waterloo around 10am?

I don't have visibility of planned engineering works this far ahead, so may change.

Sunday 7th July was the most popular date, let's aim for that date.

South Western trains do not list any engineering works after the middle of June at the moment, so will re-check in a month's time.

I just checked the trains from Orpington to Teddington/Strawberry Hill on Sunday 7th July.  It's bus to Bromley South, train to Victoria, train to Clapham Junction, train to Teddy/Strawberry.  It takes 2 hours each way.   That's seems a bit too long and too many changes.

How about going on Saturday 6th, we can change at Waterloo East and then take a train from Waterloo direct to Ted/Straw (90 minutes)?

Do you have clearance to come out this weekend?

Weather forecast looks reasonable for the weekend. I think we're going to have low attendance on this one so want to try and get the most reasonable attendance. Also have a potential new member interested.
