Royal Victoria Dock
We'll start by the royal Victoria dock, next to the Excel centre. If the lifts are working (an unknown) the Royal Victoria dock footbridge, provides some excellent views of docklands, two of mine:

Cranes of the Wharf

Millenium mills, Silvertown
We also have the new City Hall building:

and on a good day, some watersports.

Cody Dock
From here, we travel to Cody dock, via Star Lane. This was a former gas works, now converted to an arts zone. When I visited last year it had a variety of artworks and competitively priced refreshments.

The rolling bridge

Three Mills island
The last place is Three Mills island, to save some walking, we'll take the district line for one stop to Bromley by Bow. Here we can see some former, working mills on the river lea. I plan to visit this last place by mid-May to finalise the route.
There are numerous engineering works on the DLR, the dates suggested are one of a few weekend with no closures. We need the Beckton to Stratford line for these locations.
Afterwards, you can take the DLR to Stratford, then the Jubilee line to London Bridge or ride the line back to Lewisham.
