For anyone wanting to reminisce or just curious about where they lived in the past, this is worth a look.
In 1965 my hometown had a festival, I was just 6 years old and I can't remember all the goings-on but I found this 30-minute colour film of the event. All the location shots are as I remember it, the shops, churches, schools and roads. I'm amazed at how many Morris Minors appear, one after another on occasions!
As with photography, films of general life stand the test of time.
Here's a link to this film. It is part of the BFI Player which shows free films of any locations around the country. Not all the locations are accurate but you'll be surprised what may have been filmed down your way in the past.
