We appreciate that most of this year has been difficult for us as photographers, opportunities have been limited. You don't necessarily need to venture far to get some great photos and you can try new techniques at home. In January and February 2021 you can show off some of your new skills or your newly found discoveries close to home.
This is being posted early to help you prepare for the start of 2021. Bakeoff has finished, so you have no excuse not to prepare some photos.
On the 13th January 2021 we have a Member's evening on the topic of "Creative challenge; try something new."Have you tried shooting a new topic, subject or style of photography?
Have you taken any additional photos as part of the monthly challenges on the forum you want to show?
This is an informal evening to discuss photographs.
We will ask you to present two photos on a new topic. Don't worry, we'll tell you how to share your screen via zoom!
On the 19th January 2021 we have a Colour to Mono challenge (submit entries on 12th January)Submit Two photographs, first in colour, then your conversion to monochrome of the two original photos (you enter a total of 4 images). The judge will critique both photos but only score your monochrome images.
Please submit your images in
sRGB format and a maximum image size of 1400x1050 pixels to the usual Orpington PDI email address.
You may use your back catalogue of photos.
On the 26th January 2021 we have PDI challenge 3 "RED"Interpret this as you wish.

In February we give you a chance to show off something new.
On the 2nd and 9th February you have the opportunity to discuss upto 5 images from a project or panel on any topic.
Perhaps you would like to highlight some of your work from the Monthly forum challenges, by this time you could have taken part in 5 challenges?

Finally on the 16th February 2021 is PDI competition 3This is an open competion, where you need to submit three images on any topic, in sRGB format and 1400x1050 resolution, to the usual OrpingtonPDI email address.
You may of course use your back catalogue of photos.
The monthly forum challenges have produced some excellent photos to date, you are free to submit any of them to a judged PDI event.
