A few days ago one of our members was viciously attacked and robbed of his camera gear by two thugs while testing a new lens in woods close to his home.  Fortunately, he expects to make a full recovery from the injuries he sustained and the equipment is covered covered by insurance.  Among the items taken were both the new lens and the one it was intended to replace.
 
Would it be possible to circulate the details of the stolen equipment to other SLF clubs in case any of their members are offered it?  While it might be an outside chance, anything which could lead to the apprehension and conviction of the culprits has to worth a try.  It goes without saying that should anyone encounter someone who has the gear in their possession, in a face to face situation especially, they should not do anything which jeopardises their personal safety.


I have BCC’d our member so that he is aware of this e-mail.
