Hi Barrie,

I'll make my own way there, see you on Sunday.

Chris N, hope the pain eases on your back soon.

Okay thanks for update Ian, assume you know location sent originally with “what3words”

Just waiting for David to confirm if he needs a seat and to arrive at my place for 0630 and then all done with five attending.

Weather forecast has changed slightly from sunshine to cloud but still dry

Hi,

Unfortunately something has come up and I won't be able to make it tomorrow. Good luck with the outing, hope you are successful. See you Tuesday.

Great outing today Barrie with 'Elvis' the Kingfisher.  Well worth getting up at 5.30 for.

Some of the images are a bit grainy (low light, shaky hands), but here's a few that are OK.

I could not believe our luck or maybe skill 👀 today with cold but bright morning having more sightings than you shake a stick at….

Here’s sample of my efforts with many still in the can.

Thanks guys for being lookouts

Glad you were able to see a Kingfisher this morning. Elusive birds at the best of times. The standard of natural history photography these days is so high that it’s very difficult to get a good score in competitions. To give you an idea, the scores for Kingfisher shots in the Diamond Jubilee were quite low. It’s probably why I don’t even try to compete!

Scored 15/20

Scored 17/20

Peter, thanks for posting the KCPA images.

I can now appreciate the investment in time and kit to get a half decent shot.

Many thanks Barrie for organising and driving us there. Don't think my efforts quite match the standards of Barrie and Chris - and didn't get a fish in its mouth! A very small bird against a dark background.  Think I need new glasses and maybe a longer lens!
