March challenge, Details

OPS Notices

Get your cameras at the ready and pay attention to detail for this month's challenge.

This month it is Details

There are millions of minute details that constantly come together to make up the background of our lives. The soft curls of a baby's hair, a shy smile from a stranger you pass on the street, the coloured sprinkles on a doughnut, or the elegant cut of a designer handbag.
A detail can be revealed in a macro shot,  or by placing your detailed subject in front of a neutral background. Or fill your entire frame with your detail.

The usual challenge rules apply. The competition will close on the 30th March and you'll be able to vote on your favourites, which will be announced at the meeting on the 13th April.

A couple of flowers.  The first is called Craspedia and then a more conventional rose.

Hi Barrie - Is that a shiny table or a Photoshop effect?  Both great shots.

Thanks, quite interesting results.

It’s a small reflective panel plus a mix of three different processes from various training sessions.

I thought I would try some off camera flash yesterday.  I managed to work out what goes where after about an hour and a half.  I still got some strong shadows at 1/32th power.

Here are 1) Colouring pencils

2) Wheel of pencils

Chris,

Looks good in mono.  I am intrigued by the reflection in the goose's eye.
