Mary Moore

Alan Graham
It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of Mary Moore this morning. Mary was a longtime member and supporter of the OPS. I have no further details at this stage except she had been in the PRU. Details of her funeral will be announced in due time.

I'm really sorry to hear about Mary Moore.  She was treasurer of the club for 30 years before handing over the reigns to me.  I guess she was a member of the club for about 50 years and was noted for her knowledgeable walking tours around London (before my time).

Really sad news, yet another long time club member has passed away.

That 70 + year of Club being founded is becoming a reality.

Fond memories of Mary especially her enjoyment of photography plus walking tour stories.

The family has contacted the committee with the following details:

If any of your members wish to attend her thanksgiving service, it will be held on Monday 6 April at 2.30pm at West Wickham and Shirley Baptist Church, CR0 8EB.  She did not want any flowers but donations, if desired, to SPANA (Society For The Protection Of Animals Abroad) via Francis Chappell, 231 High St, Bromley or there will be a collection box at the service for SPANA and the Dogs Trust (her other chosen charity). It would be helpful for catering to know how many people may attend.

If you intend to go as part of a group or otherwise I will pass on numbers once this has been organised.

Re: Mary Moore

I have not been able to respond to Mary's family to say about numbers attending yet, if you are thinking about attending please let me know.

They have just sent this, if anyone is interested:

I know it is old technology, but in her house we have found about a dozen unused slide trays/magazines (indeed they are still in the Jessop’s carrier bags) and wonder if any of your members wants them.  I’d much rather they go to good home than the tip.

Again let me know if you are interested.
