Thames path walk Saturday 21st May

Hello, it's your social secretary again.

Based on the responses so far, Saturday 21st May has won as a date for a walk along the Thames path. This is also a day with low tide at 12:35, so would provide foreshore access.

I removed the poll after discussing the trip at the AGM, post updated with new details

This year, I propose filling in the Thames path from Wapping to the Tower of London. Some of you enquired about a boat trip on the thames, well the Uber boats/Thames clippers have an outside viewing area at the rear, so combining the two might work. A single trip on the river bus for Freedom pass holders is £3.75, for regular Oyster card users (Myself and George) it is £7.50.

We would check the Thames Clipper/Uber boats have an open, rear viewing area first, then take the boat to North Greenwich. From there you can explore 'The Tide' walkway and 5 minutes later make the move to home! :)
From North Greenwich, for those Orpington based, the Jubilee line for 4 stops to London Bridge then regular train to go home. I'll take the 132 bus

 Meeting point

Outside Urban Baristas Coffee shop in Wapping, exit the Overground station and turn right.

To get to Wapping, take the train to London Bridge, change to the Jubilee line where it is 2 stops Canada Water. At Canada Water, swap to the London Overground for 2 stops.

For George, meet at 10:00am, for everyone else, meet at 10:30am

Route

As always, just a guide. Half the fun is the urban exploring.

This popped up in my newsfeed today:

There are plenty of refreshment opportunities on the route.

I've updated the first post with the final details, including a route.

We finish at the Tower of London/Tower Pier. We might be able to sneak a peek at the 'London Superbloom' they are setting up in the moat, before they put up all the barriers.

Hi,

Just over a week to go, long term weather forecast is good.
From my surveys, the following said yes:
Philip,
George,
Chris Nash,
Keith,
Richard,
Chris Sawyer,
David Barnes
David Bacon,
June?
Jan?

For one of our PDI challenges, Beauty in imperfection, Wilton's Music Hall exterior might provide a few photos. Hope this link works, https://goo.gl/maps/gBpjZwySdLuiSGj79

On the day we'll check the Thames clipper/uber boats, to see if they still have the outdoor viewing area for photography on the way back.

Looking into eating/drinking options at the moment.

Hi,

Jan, no worries, see you another time.
June, we start by a coffee shop, I need a refuel in the morning too! There will be places on the route.

Tomorrows forecast looks reasonable, better than today.
