LEE VALLEY White Water Rafting photo day

Many thanks to Barrie for organising the day out at Lee Valley white-water centre and for driving us there and back...and thanks for all the chips.  My head's still spinning looking through the images from yesterday.  Here's a shot from the day..

If those of you who went to Lee Valley would like to send me 2 images each of your day I will put a gallery up under Events on the website. Usual pixel sizes will do. These pages should help promote the societies activities.

Barrie would you check out the current entries (iSpy2, Avanti etc) and send me a paragraph explaining your day out. Names don't need to be added.

I believe all of you should have my email address. Cheers.

Avanti - Brands Hatch

Club members were invited to join several local cycling clubs at Brands Hatch Racing Circuit but with exclusive access to get close to the track within the safety barriers (once the club had proved its public liability cover was valid). 

This was an offer we could not refuse and about 8 members spread themselves around the circuit for an exclusive photo shoot.


ISpy 2 - 

Six members arrived at London Bridge where our organiser explained the new format for a re-run of our popular ISpy event around the streets of London, lots of opportunity to spy out the questions and cryptic clues / puzzles. 

Two teams set off in opposite directions within a time limit that neither were able to achieve but great fun in trying as this assists with seeing opportunities for those special photos.

Lee Valley White Water Event

Six OPS club members attended the British Open canoeing slalom at the Olympic White Water Park at Lee Valley on Saturday 17th Sept.

It was possible to access beyond the safety ropes with a Free Accreditation request but viewing was also more than acceptable with free public access throughout the course.

In addition to the Open contestants the competition included a 6 x Women Rafting event in the smaller public rapids where both events offered more action photography than most memory cards can supply.

We all agreed this was cost effective outing with relatively easy access to action photography
