Hi,

I can set the meeting point easier now. We'll meet in Limehouse basin shown here:



When you exit the train station at either exit, turn left



It was 20 minutes on the DLR from Limehouse to Lewisham on my return trip today. Getting from Aldwych to Limehouse by bus took 40 minutes, so I'd recommend the DLR from Lewisham to get to the starting point.

At the end of the walk, at Victoria park, there is a cafe in the park and a number of pubs with outdoor gardens at the north end of the park. You can then take a 20 minute bus ride to Stratford, a 30-40 minute bus ride to London Bridge or a 25 minute bus ride to Canary Wharf.
Nearest undergound is Mile End.

Good job I changed the date of this, there's another rail strike on Saturday 13th August. I have other ideas for trips in London but will hold off until we know more about the industrial unrest.

Hi Ian,

Just to confirm that we are meeting at 10.30am (8/8) for the Canal Walk.

The website suggests 'around 11am' so I wanted to be sure of the time before advising any 'new members'.

Hi Chris,

The start time is when everyone arrives. Nominally 10:30 but some of you may struggle to make that if using your freedom pass on a weekday, so allow for up to 11am.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it on Monday, I tested positive for Covid 19 today, I need to isolate for at least 5 days, which takes me to Monday/Tuesday. I'll leave it to the rest of you if you want to go ahead.
