I will catch the 9.41 from Orpington (platform 8).  It gets to Lewisham at 10.02.  Then 20 minutes on the DLR to Limehouse.

Hi,

Still infectious so won't be there. Your feedback would be appreciated, as well as a few photos. A few notes and ideas for the day.

When you arrive, you might want to spend some time wandering around Limehouse basin before starting the walk. A variety of house boats, a few lock gates and some gentrified buildings await.

Once you pass Candy wharf, you'll have some green space on your right hand side, go explore if there is anything of interest. About half way along, you'll encounter Mile End park, dissected by the A11. There is a Costa Coffee here, perfect for refreshments and a toilet!

The Art pavilion in Mile end park might be worth a look.

For lunch, I would recommend the Pavilion Cafe in Victoria park, it was reasonably priced. Tea for £1!
The pubs nearby are gastro pubs with corresponding meal prices. If after lunch you need another beer( They do seell at the Cafe), walk north through the park to Wetherall road/lauriston road, you can then chose the Royal Inn on the Park or the Empress.

Walk to Victoria park road to get the bus toward home. You can take a 388 Base from Wetherall road to London Bridge Station (35 minutes) or a 277 bus to Crossharbour, which will drop you off in Canary Wharf near to Westferry DLR station (17 minutes). You can also take the 277 bus from outside the Cafe in the park.

Im very sorry but i am changing tack. I really want to see the tall Swedish ship go under tower bridge, so am going to london at the crack. Sad covid has struck again, perhaps Ian will re arrange this walk again later on.

Nice idea Fay, I may have a go at that as it arrives 8.30 with Canon’s Blazing. What time allowance you giving for LB to Tower (15 mins will be my guess to set up)
