Dear OPS Members,
I said I would try to arrange a day out at Hever Castle for the Society a while ago. I am pleased to announce the following:
Hever Castle are considering allowing recognised photographic societies group access to the grounds and gardens of the castle for the purposes of taking artistic and competition images. Access to societies on this basis would be FREE for members on the day of the group visit! In this respect OPS will be the ‘trial’ society and Hever Castle will be keen to see how the visit goes so that it can be opened up to other societies in the future.
Please note that images taken should not be used for commercial purposes, and Hever are keen to arrange a display of member’s photographs for visitors to see at a later date.
Photographers will be required to wear ‘identity badges’ and bring any reasonable equipment they need (tripods, reflectors, shades etc), which are not permitted to ordinary visitors.
Access will NOT include the castle as photography is not permitted inside. Members may visit the castle for viewing on paying the entry fee at the door if they wish.
This is a great opportunity for the Society to photograph a wonderful historic landmark and create some great images, so your support is encouraged.
At this point I would like a show of interest to see what numbers we are dealing with. The day visit would be the weekend of 16th 17th August. The visit will be one day or the other leaving a window for unpredictable weather!
In the first instant please email me if you are interested in attending at :-neil@euphoricimages.com using the headline ‘OPS Hever’ by Friday 10th July 2014.
Once I have numbers I will post the 'challenge' and provide further details.
Regards
Neil
