Hi, I an a complete novice at this and I found the recent two club nights useful but I think it would be useful to sit down with someone who has more experience and work through a few images in a systematic way so that I can build up my competence. Is anyone interested in helping me? I am happy to pay for a coffee and pastry at a venue in the High street as recompense. I have Affinity Photo on my Microsoft Surface. I recognise that both from a processing perspective and a monitor this is not ideal but at this stage it is not practical to replace. Let me know if you can assist but no issues if not.
Kind Regards Mick |
Good idea Mick but think you'll need somebody with hands-on experience of Affinity Photo & thats not me! Nor Photoshop either! Be interesting to see who has the capability.
Good luck |

Hi Mick,
We could spend sometime over coffee somewhere, perhaps a few sessions would be adequate when I get back from my break after 19th Nov. PS and LR. + NIK plugins would be your long term solution but Affinity is a good starting point. Cheers Barrie PS Aurora Affinity i’am aware but not proficient, therefore if anyone else in club has the experience then please join for coffee.... Barrie, many thanks. I appreciate your help. When you are back we can sort out a venue. Anyone else is welcome. There are a few places in the High street where laptops are welcome.
Have a good break. Kind Regards Mick |

Count me in to assist. I have Affinity loaded on my main machine but will need to familiarise myself with it. I recall it is similar to Photoshop so should not be too difficult for me. As Barrie suggests, Lightroom or similar "may" be an easier option or a free version of DxO (again happy to help on that one) Richard On Thu, Nov 8, 2018 at 10:21 AM Mick McHale [via Orpington Photographic Society Forum] <[hidden email]> wrote: Barrie, many thanks.
