Rosette and Christmas Tree Cluster

Fay
Rosette and Christmas |Tree Cluster
Have posted this as first I have done for a while. Have to wait an age for the next good night. This was a good night except for the BIGproblem of the Moon, but tha ha filter is a bit forgiving so was worth having a try.

NGC2244  Rosette, 5,000 light years away and 130 light years in diameter,  and Christmas tree cluster, 2,700 light years away,  NGC 2264. QSI 583ws, 5nm ha, Samyang 135 lens, Starlight Xpress Lodestar 2, guide camera.  25x300sec, flats, flat darks and darks.
Well it was going to be clear, bit of wind and the Moon  was just a bit too bright, right above Monoceros. Well  it was worth a try and gets everything working. No Moon next time

Great shot Fay.  Amazing detail for something so far away.  I dare you to enter it in competition.

The judge would say..."The Rosette needs more room to breathe on the left-hand side (about 50 light years!)".
